This in-person class is expected to take approximately 4-6 hours. To ensure a smooth experience, please remember that it is mandatory to complete the precourse assessment. You can access the precourse by visiting [elearning.heart.org/course/423](https://elearning.heart.org/course/423).

Once you complete the precourse, please bring your certificate and score report to class. Alternatively, you can email these documents to us prior to the class time. This step is crucial for your participation in the course.

Additionally, please note that an ACLS Provider Manual is mandatory for this course and will be included in the price of your course.


The ACLS course will cover essential topics, including:

HeartCode BLS combines online coursework with hands-on skills practice, allowing you to learn at your own pace. The online portion covers important topics such as:

- High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
- Use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
- Recognition of respiratory and cardiac arrest
- Effective team dynamics in a resuscitation scenario

Once you complete the online component, you will need to attend a skills session to demonstrate your proficiency. Please ensure you bring your completion certificate to the skills session.

A BLS Provider Manual is strongly recommended for this course but not required. You can purchase a hard copy for $20 or opt for the BLS Provider E-book for $15.50.

The 2021 Basic Life Support (BLS) course provides healthcare providers and public safety professionals the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult child and infant patients. Consistent with the American Red Cross Focused Updates and Guidelines 2020 BLS is the foundational CPR/AED program typically required for healthcare providers and public safety professionals. Through the use of lecture skills demonstration practice and case-based emergency response scenarios with a focus on team-based response BLS builds the key critical thinking problem solving and team dynamic skills that are needed to drive better patient outcomes. Upon successful completion of the course learners will receive a 2-year Basic Life Support digital certificate with anytime anywhere access to certificate and training history.The American Red Cross is an accredited provider of continuing education by the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education. You have chosen a blended Red Cross Basic Life Support Adult and Pediatric course which requires you to complete an online course before attending the selected in-person skill evaluation.  If you do not have the online course completed before the in-person skills evaluation you are subject to a $35 rescheduling fee.

Part 1 – ONLINE COURSE

After enrollment, click the link provided (or copy/paste into a new website browser).  Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari will work best to support the Red Cross online course. The online course operates optimally on a computer - DO NOT USE A PHONE

Below is the link to American Red Cross site to register and take online course. 

Click the link below and enter your name/email into the registration page on the RED CROSS Learning Center page.

After that, check your email for a message from Red Cross with your activated voucher for the online training. This email will come from:  <no reply@redcross.org
Follow the directions provided in that email:

Click the link: Step # 1 - This link activates your online course voucher and will take you to the Red Cross Blended Learning page. Once that page loads, if you have taken a Red Cross online course before, you will see your name in the upper right corner or you can use the password recovery to log in.

If you do NOT see your name or have never taken a Red Cross course, you will be prompted to enter your email. Click forgot password to create/reset your password using a secure email link. 

Once done, close that page and go back to the Red Cross email, click the link and enter your credentials (email/password). See Launch Course to start your online course.

Part 2 – IN PERSON SKILL EVALUATION 

If late to class you will not be able to participate. Bring evidence of the online course completion to your skills class that includes your name. Make sure you click "FINISH" at the end of your online course in the last page of the last module. The completion email from the Red Cross or a snapshot of that last page of the last module of the online course (showing the words "successfully completed") will suffice as evidence of online course completion. 

Certification cards will be emailed same day within 4 hours after successful completion of both the online course and in-person skills course.

This course will train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red Cross First Aid CPR and AED courses. In order to participate in this course you must possess a current basic-level American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED (or higher level) certification or equivalent and be at least 16 years of age on the last day of the instructor course. Upon registration it is important that you review and follow the directions on the e-mail attachment sent with your registration confirmation. This is a blended learning course consisting of online content a skills session and classroom segments. Online material must be completed prior to attending the classroom activities. For more information please reference the attachment you will receive via e-mail when you register for this course.

Class Online

Online + Classroom - online portion must have a Laptop Computer or Desktop PC and be able to access the online portion. it does not work on cell phone/tablets/ipads. (It will be required to bring your laptop to class with you so that you can do your teachbacks using your own PC.

Certification
Red Cross courses offer Digital Certification, an online version of a Red Cross certificate, which provides anytime, anywhere access to student training history and course certificates. Digital certificates can be viewed, printed or shared online and can be accessed anytime through your Red Cross Account. Each certificate includes a unique ID and a QR code which meets employment requirements and allows employers to easily confirm your certificate is valid. There is no need to carry your printed certificate around anymore!



Please NOTE: if the online course is not completed by course time or You do not have a valid CPR AED Certification from Redcross or The American Heart Association you will be required to reschedule and pay a reschedule fee of $150.00

*Important Requirements:*
To participate in the BLS Instructor course, you must have an active BLS Provider card from the American Heart Association. If your certification is not current, You’ll need to complete the BLS Provider course before attending the Instructor training. Attached you will find some documents that you will need to fill out and complete and send back to us.

Additionally,  You must complete and purchase the following items before your class.

You will also need a copy of the BLS Instructor Manual this can be purchased from www.worldpoint.com or by adding this onto your course as an addon
And we will give your manual at the course start date and time.
